PRAISE BE TO CHRIST THE LORD

I would like to share some of my God experiences with you….

I was on treatment for anaemia from April 2023 onwards. On further diagnosis, it was found that there was a growth in my large intestine. A biopsy was done. On 29- 05-2023, while I and my wife were leaving for church for Holy Mass and Novena, the biopsy result came as a message on my mobile, which read as “well-differentiated adenocarcinoma in ascending colon.” We made a deep search on the internet about this and then left for church. I had ensured myself that I should not show any signs of fear on the way to church.

I could not concentrate on the Holy mass and Novena…

I was asking God, why it happened to me, even though I was following a good food habit and lifestyle.

Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you [Psalms 55:22]

As a reply to my question, I was taken back to my past to unwind the God experiences I had from my childhood. It has taken 35-plus years for me to unwind the “sweet experiences with God’s signature.” I would like to share with you a few of these blessings.

Our parish in Kerala is Mount Carmel Church, Keezhoor. From childhood, I was a strong devotee of Mother Mary. I was suffering from cold, cough and asthma on a rotation basis from my childhood. I have got permanent relief from these as a blessing from God, after attending the one-week residential retreat two times at Divine Retreat Centre, Chalakkudy.

I completed my education in 1998, and my dream was a government job. We were subscribing to the Deepika daily during the period. There were lots of testimonies and prayers to St. Jude in the daily. I believed and learned the Novena by heart and used to recite it to achieve my dream. I completed a one-year apprenticeship in HNL in the year 2000. In the same year, I passed the RRB written exam, physical, medical and psychology test, and I got an appointment in Indian Railways in 2001 in Bangalore! It has happened not because of my merit, but because of the Grace of God, through the intercession of St. Jude, the Patron Saint of Impossible Causes.

My marriage with Mini was in 2005. Due to some complications during the period of pregnancy, she was granted “Work from Home” in 2006 and the same has continued till now!

The hunt for an own house started in the year 2006. Our house in Kerala is around 4 km far from our Parish church. So, our prayer was for a house close to any church.

God has again blessed us with the dream to come true with a house just 5 minutes walking distance from the church, in the name of St. Jude.

There was a continuous flow of God’s blessings throughout my journey of life. Hundreds of sweet experiences with the signature of God. The journey of our life was very smooth without any humps or hurdles, just like a car in 6th gear through an expressway, with Jesus in the driving seat. Years have passed by the Grace of God, leaving behind many sweet memories. In the speedy and smooth nonstop journey of my life, for many years, at some point, my Driver, Jesus, understands that the vehicle is showing the signs of some defects, which require immediate service. The” Driver” wants to slow down the “vehicle” but it is not happening…the brake power seems to

be fading…Whenever the “Driver” wants to turn the “vehicle” towards right, it tends to turn towards left…the situation that every driver wants to get his vehicle serviced without any delay.

I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare, and not for harm [Jeremiah 29:11]

Novena. I returned home with full of hope, energy, confidence and willpower. I could maintain these throughout my course of treatment. I was rest assured that this was God’s plan to correct me and to make me a new human.

I collected the biopsy result the next day, and I was referred to HCG Cancer Hospital by Railways immediately. HCG is the No.1 hospital in Karnataka for treating cancer. I made an appointment with Dr. Prabhu N. Nesargikar, who is having experience of 19 years in the same field. My “Driver” Jesus, ensured the best repair for his “vehicle”… so He arranged the best “engineer” and best service centre (HCG Hospital).

As per the doctor, I was a lucky patient because if the cancer were on any other part of the large intestine or in the small intestine, there could have been chances of complications, but mine was in ascending colon, where the chances of complications are very less.

Praise the Lord for increasing my willpower.

Surgery was done on June 15th and got discharged on June 20th, on my daughter’s birthday.

As per the surgical pathology report, the cancer had reached the third stage…,so advised 12 adjuvant chemo treatments, i.e., twice a month with a gap of 15 days. The side effects which I had gone through over those six months are

wordless…..impossible to explain here… feebleness, nausea, feeling imbalance, difficulty to pronounce some words, amnesia [memory loss], difficulty in writing, numbness in fingers and toes, nose bleeding, throat infections due to the low immunity, etc., are some of them! Once, I was admitted on an emergency basis due to nose bleeding. Three bags of blood were transfused, and while transfusing 3rd bag of blood, the nurse asked me to arrange for 3 people to replace the blood! I again called God…and a few minutes later, I called my friend and conveyed the matter. Within
